This morning shortly after my sewing machine dealer opened I retrieved my serger. ~ sigh of relief ~ I haven’t been home long so I’ve not tested it out to see how it’s working, but I’m optimistic. It’s all set up and ready to test, but I was famished when I got home.
I made a side trip after picking up my baby. It seems here lately the thrift store near our home calls me when I get within a mile or two of it. Today I gave into the temptation to stop in. I found several different packages of trims and some buttons for a quarter a piece and some wonderful glassware (that I did not need but could not resist giving a good home to.) I’ve got those in the dishwasher already and will take a picture when they are all spiffied up.
A “baby” picture….
Thrifting…part 1: The remnants came from Wally World. They are destined to become shopping bags…I think.

The dishwasher is finished.
Here’s the glassware I picked up today. I found 6 Old Britain Castles cups and saucers (Made in England), an etched glass jelly pot with silver spoon (made in Italy), two Pyrex pie plates (made in USA…always hand to have extras), an Colonial English Ironstone Platter (Made in England), and 4 Blue Cornflower Corning Ware Petite Pans. All the glassware was under $14.00. Not a bad haul, if you ask me.

Until next time,
remember…
You stand tallest on your knees.

That is a good deal, Judy!!! And very pretty!
Yikes, I’m envious of that glassware!! Wonderful!!
I looked this stuff up online, and it’s a VERY good deal!
Faye, don’t be envious…just come go thrifting with me.
Can I come too? You girls always find the neatest stuff…. I pulled out the remnants from the curtains I made for my dining room and thought perhaps I would make matching ones for over my kitchen sink… that was a wonderful find and I was with Faye when we found them… okay… actually, I think she’s the one who first sighted them… sigh…I just need to learn to be more observant…:D
Come on down!
Molly, I always pray before I go thrifting…
that I not buy dumb stuff I don’t need and for
eyes to catch the real deals.
God’s faithful. I don’t mean in a name and claim it sort of way…but to give me discernment and self-control in spending.
Wow, Judy, you got some great deals! I love those tea cups!
The deal was really very amazing, Kimberly…although I knew what I was getting when I bought them, I did not know what they sell for these days. I spent $.55 per cup and saucer…they sell for $16.00 a cup…I couldn’t find a price on an individual saucer. That was a high price…but hey, I can live with that as I sip coffee or tea from them.
I adore old English patterns.
