Watermelon is the theme, and that’s right up my alley! How appropriate for my first time to participate in Scrumptious Sunday. I love watermelon! Watermelon is one of God’s sweet compensations for those living in the deep south during the dog days of summer.
I just so happen to have a freshly picked, locally grown watermelon…
making the cut…
O, a nice bright red color…
…think I’ll eat the heart out.
just a little garnish (optional)…
how sweet it is!
See you next week for another Scrumptious Sunday.
Until next time…
The true Southern watermelon is a boon apart, and not to be mentioned with commoner things. It is chief of this world’s luxuries, king by the grace of God over all the fruits of the earth. When one has tasted it, he knows what the angels eat. It was not a Southern watermelon that Eve took; we know it because she repented. ~ Mark Twain (1835-1910) ~

Hello Judy and welcome to our bunch at Scrumptious Sunday. You sure look like you enjoyed that watermelon!
My post is up too. I have several very easy watermelon recipes.

Hi Joy,
Thanks for dropping by. The watermelon pictured was super sweet…a little taste of Heaven.
I’ll be dropping by your blog.
The heart is the best part
Shannon, you’ve got that right! I agree with you “whole heartedly”.
That’s the first part I eat every time. I’m the only one at our house who eats watermelon so always get the very best part…all the way to the very last mouthful.
Welcome to Scrumptious Sunday-I am a little late-oopsie! I have been so busy! I love the demonstration and pictures here! Great post! Hope to see you this week-even if I am not there-hehe! Thanks again!
