Fall is finally in the air in Mississippi. We’ve had a break in the oppressive heat that is so much a part of the deep south. Mornings are crisp and cool. It’s my favorite time of year.
With the cooler temps I’ve been reminded of our need for firewood. My DH and I try our best [...]

Sashay Skirt
Posted in Making Things, Sewing keeps me sane., Show and Tell on September 29, 2008 | 3 Comments »
My sewing project for the past couple days has been a sashay skirt for my granddaughter. It looks much sweeter in real life. (My camera leaves much to be desired…a new one is on my wish list.)
The skirt goes together like a breeze. I lengthened it about three inches, but I made no other alterations. [...]

For Today…September 29, 2008
Outside My Window…the sun is shining and our dogs are lolling in the backyard. Fall is in the air even though the thermometer is rising.
I am thinking…much about the “buy out bill” our representatives are working on. I so don’t want to see our government gain more power over us. Freedom is [...]

Busy, Busy Week

It’s been several days since I made a blog entry. I’ve neglected my blog while being very busy around our house. It seems the more I do, there more there is to do. Does anyone else have that reality? My friend Rosie called me today to see if everything was ok and to let me she [...]
Morgan Crowed :) week 7

Yesterday I decided on a name for our gray “exotic” (don’t know what breed he is for sure) rooster. I dubbed him Morgan. My rooster is named after Piers Morgan, the former editor of The Daily Mirror and current judge of America’s Got Talent, because of his no nonsense personality. Piers is considered “the mean [...]

For Today…September 22, 2008
Outside My Window…it feels like fall! Woo hoo! We’ve been working outside this morning getting a fall garden spot ready for collards, onions, and cabbage. I’ll probably pick up some mums, too…just because I love, love, love the color blast.
I am thinking…of all the things I’d like to pack into the next [...]
My Beautiful Friend…

My beautiful friend Faye got a beautiful, brand spanking new motorcycle. It has been a desire of her heart for quite a while now…and her dream is coming true. I’m rejoicing with her.
Her motorcyle is called “Red Hot Mama”…seems appropriate.
Until next time…

Thursday Thingie

Last week Thursday came and went without me ever thinking about what day it was. That’s one of the draw backs of being a homebody hermit who only leaves home when necessity forces me. This week I am sharing a shelf my dad made for me. The shelf itself is not but around 25 years [...]
