One of the top reasons we justify paying for television programing is The Food Network. I didn’t realize how much I missed it until we had a satellite installed just weeks before the election so we could watch Fox News…our top reason for paying for television programing. Paula Deen is one of my favorite chefs because of her down-to-earth, home-style recipes. This past week she titillated my appetite with a muffin recipe I’ve been anxious to try. I love hot bread of almost any kind, and these sound mouth-wateringly wonderful. I’ve just started cooking supper, and muffins are on the menu. After they come out of the oven, I’ll add a picture. (I don’t want to let this day slip by without a post and blow Nablopomo.) I hope Paula is right, because she swears by this muffin. She says no meal is complete without one.
Update…Paula is right. The muffins are crazy good…and pretty. The dough is very thick, but it works beautifully.
Sour Cream Muffins

* 1/2 pint sour cream

Until next time…

Flour, butter and sour cream? That’s it?? They look delicious! I can’t wait to try them! I was just talking to Chas the other day about how sour cream makes cake so much tastier so I’m sure it works the same for muffins too. Yum!
ps: Chas’s b-day is either the 6th or the 7th…I’ll find out for sure!
Those certainly sound doable AND dangerous = yummy!!! TFS!
Love the quote too BTW, I am a quote hound
oxo
they are yummy looking – love Paula Deen also!!! Only 9 more days to go in nablopomo- great job!!!
i adore paula deen, but not what marketing has done to her. her show, “paula’s party”, we’ve banned from our home…..frankly, i’m embarrassed for her with this one!
anyway………i love her cream biscuits….i imagine we’ll love these just as much! thanks for posting both the recipe and the photo! yummo!
I’m not sure what Paula’s Party is…This came from Paula’s Home Cooking, and there was nothing offensive in the show titled Bag Lady. It was just her making dishes that got her own business started. Does she have more than one show format? Or maybe they ditched the party one, because it was not widely appreciated.
It is a shame that many programs have dropped their standards to compete with what sells these days. This is happening more and more and is a definite sign of the times.
I made these a while back, and had forgotten about them! Thank you for the reminder! They look scrumptious!
paula’s party airs at 10 pm on saturdays here. i waited with great aniticipation for it as we soooooo love paula’s home cooking. were we ever disappointed! it’s full of inuendo (some not so veiled) and generally moved her into the “adult” market, imho. thanks but no thanks
The muffins look wonderful! I am saving this recipe!!!
