It’s hard to believe Thursday has rolled around one more time…so quickly. When I was a girl many people greater in years and wiser than me, told me to “enjoy the present”, because ”time flies when you get older”. I was often admonished not to “wish my life away” when I expressed my desire to be older and on my own, liberated from my parents’ control. Back in those days I thought such wise counsel was baseless and unlikely…even foolish. Afterall…how could time fly?
Today I am thankful for wise counsel. I’m thankful for those who gave me wise counsel when I was a girl even though I rejected much of it at the time and considered it silly back in those days. I still remember their words clearly and recognize them for the true wisdom they were. I am thankful for my godly friends, past and present, who are not afraid to give godly counsel and for God’s word so full of truth and guidance to live by. I’m thankful for my pastor who shares biblical wisdom that helps me in my daily walk with Christ.
This past Sunday as I parked my car before going into church, I noticed the sign my pastor shares bits of wisdom with passersby. This week the saying fits the Attitude of Gratitude theme perfectly and has helped me remember to pause and think of all I have to be thankful for throughout the week.
Have you paused to think of the many things you have to be thankful for, or does your attitude of gratitude need an adjustment? Feel free to join in on Thursday and share what you are thankful for. Click on the Attitude of Gratitude button at the top of this post or on the sidebar to visit the Christian Homekeeper blog.
Until next time…
Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20

It’s funny but blogging has actually caused me to be more in the moment each day. And I know that’s a good thing because when I concentrate on the next thing, time surely does fly.
Great post.
Have a lovely day.

I am thankful for our Lord’s tender mercies. I am also thankful for wonderful, Godly blogging women like you! I finished Redeeming Love tonight. What a moving story. I did cry, just like you said I would! Thank you, Judy.
XOXO
I find counsel and wisdom given to me eons ago (and largely unheeded) coming out of my mouth to my daughter (probably also unheeded! LOL) And so it goes, she will speak the same wise words down the road to a pair of closed ears……
O Brenda. I’m thankful for the Lord’s tender mercies, too…and just think.
“It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.” Lamentations 3:22-24
Redeeming Love is one of my top 10 favorite books of all times…and all categories. Francine Rivers is an wonderful author and the story is precious. I’m so glad you enjoyed it…and I would have really been worried about you if you had not cry…
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I appreciate you. I’ll be looking in on your blog to see if you’ve posted lately very soon. oxo Judy
Pat, I can say the same thing…I guess it’s just the way of the cycle of life. Wisdom rarely comes to youth but by experience. I do believe young ears are open…or we would not remember so well those wise word long ago spoken. Rather, I think, it’s a stiff neck and an itch to be grown that rejects tried and true wisdom. I remember so well I knew it all back in the day…and then came life in the real world.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I’m heading your way shortly to see where this post led you. oxo Judy
