Last week I shared a crazy quilt snowball I made to swap with Rita. Thankfully before mailing it, I discovered I misunderstood her preferences, and I made a new one for her. Rita requested a hexagon shaped snowball embellished with roses and/or dragonflies. That was a far cry from the “Under the Sea” theme of the round one I almost sent to her…not to mention the shape. I appreciate Rita’s patience while waiting for her snowball. It was due by the end of July, but life got in the way.

I made a hexagon template before cutting Rita’s snowball. For safekeeping I’m uploading a copy in .pdf format. Feel free to print it out and use it if you’d like to try your hand at making a hexagon snowball.
A new home has been found for the round snowball I made orginally…Hollie claimed it, so I’ll be throwing it her way.
Until next time…

I Love the hexagon snowball and your handwork is lovely. You make us proud.
Judy Judy Judy – what a gorgeous snowball you made for Rita! I love your roses – you did a perfect job of using the bullion stitch! and the UTS – I love it!!!!
Both blocks are so beautiful! The bullion roses are gorgeous! Now you have my mind running about a thousand miles an hour with the possibilities of using hexagons for crazy quilting! Imagine a sane quilting grandmother’s flower garden pattern done as a crazy quilt instead. Oh dear, my plans for my brown and white CQ may have to be put on hold, or I could continue to be my usual ADHD self and do both! LOL!
Both are soo beautiful- but I must say I am partial to the dragonflies and flowers!!!
Aw, dear Lennie. What a sweet thing to say. Thank you for dropping by and leaving a message. It’s always a pleasure to “see” you.
Judy
Hey Nickie Lee,
I’m glad you like Rita’s snowball (and the UTS). Rita wanted roses and she got roses.
My thumb was so sore from making all those bullion stitches!
I’m still working on your block…slowly but surely.
Thank you for stopping by…your comments are always appreciated!
Hey Stephanie,
Thank you for your encouraging words. A grandmother’s flower garden crazy quilt would be beyond beautiful! Do you have a blog? I would love to peek at your work.
Thank you for stopping by and letting me know you have been here. I love your comments!
Judy
Hey Pat,
I’m soo glad you like my snowballs…and I’d pick the dragonflies and roses, too, if I got to keep one. BUT I just had to try the Under the Sea theme and can see me making more. That was just a warm up.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment so I knew you were here. I’ll be checking your blog soon. This has been kind of a slow couple of weeks for blogging and computer, but I’m trying to get back in the swing of things.
