Last night I made the final stitch on Hollie’s beautiful Butterflies and Dragonflies round robin block.
I stitched several bullion roses and added a small hand-dyed, Venice lace butterfly to adorn a feather stitch seam treatment. French knot buds and yellow seed beads accent the floral motif. Two silk ribbon and seed bead dragonflies finish off my work on the right side of the anchor piece. Black cultured pearls form the head of the dragonflies.
I added a piece of cotton lace along a seam below the anchor piece and placed a larger lace butterfly on a seam joint to break up the long seam. I stitched tiny butterflies using detached chain stitch and seed beads on one side of the lace motif and tiny dragonflies on the other side. Straight stitches in turquoise cotton floss accented with white cultured pearls add interest to the white lace.
A tiny speck of “disappearing ink” has not faded just to the right bottom wing of the larger lace butterfly motif. I’m hoping it’s just very slow.
I hope Hollie is pleased. I enjoyed working on her lovely block.
Until next time…
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1:7

BEAUTIFUL, Judy!! I love the little dragonflies… I know Hollie will love this.
For the stubborn ink, if it is OK to wet the piece, try a little bit of baking soda disolved in plain water. This mixture neutralizes the ink. Just wet a cloth, then brush it across the stubborn place. Hope this helps!
Thank you for the tip, Kathy. That tiny spot sticks out like a sore thumb to me.
And thank you for your kind comments. I appreciate you stopping by and letting me know you have been here.
See you at Fancy Stitching very soon.
Hugs, Judy
She’s pleased! hollie
I’m glad.
