This past week I made a heart for a friend…I won’t say who, because she has not received it yet, and I surely don’t want to let the cat out of the bag and spoil the surprise. The heart is backed with felted wool and has a hanger made of silk ribbon so it can be used as a door knob hanger or a pincushion.
One of the crazy quilting groups I belong to had a secret sister swap recently. Unfortunately everyone who signed up did not keep their commitment so there were ladies who gave and did not receive. I did not take part in the swap, but I felt compelled to step up and send a package to someone who was left out as a random act of kindness. There were guidelines for the swap, and one thing that was supposed to be included in the package was something handmade. For this I also made a heart door knob hanger/pincushion. I wish I had taken a picture of the heart only, but I did not think to do it. The recipient told me she chose to use the heart as a door knob hanger and would think of me when she saw it. She did not want to stick holes in it.
I felt very blessed to be able to do this for someone who did their part but got left out. It truly is more blessed to give than to receive.
Until next time…
Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. 2 Corinthians 9:15

Beautiful heart as are all the goodies you sent.
You are indeed a good soul Ms Judy!! That’s very touching.
No, I’m not really good, Pam, but I do love to see people happy. And I love to do random acts of kindness. People are sadly so surprised when someone does something nice for them for the simple sake of doing something nice. I was in the post office line the other day and a young man was behind me. He was obviously anxious to get out of there, and I noticed he held an unstamped letter and two quarters. I thought I might have a stamp or two in my wallet, and I looked and found them. I pulled one off the sticky paper and handed it to him. He looked shocked and then so pleased. He took the stamp and hot footed it out of the line. I love taking people by pleased surprise. It makes my day…kind of like people who send DVD’s to other people for the simple sake of sharing. What comes around truly does go around. God has blessed me so…I just want to pass those blessings on.

Judy, your sweetness and generosity has no end… you truly are one of the kindest ladies I have had the pleasure of meeting via the internet…. I’m so very happy that we have become friends and look forward to another fun year of chatting with you. The heart is lovely and the one you gave away to brighten another swappers day is even lovelier,,,what a wonderful surprsie for her when she was so sad before.
Aw, Nicki Lee, I just try to treat other people the way I would like to be treated. Mind you, I fall short of that goal, but I do try. I’m glad you like my hearts…and do hope the recipients will, too. I am exceedingly thankful you and I have been placed on each other’s paths, too. You’ve been a blessing to me. I appreciate you stopping by my blog and letting me know you were here. I love bloggy company.
