A crazy quilt heart swap is being hosted by Crazy Quilting for Newbies with a mailing date of April 1. Until today I teetered on whether or not to join in. Getting the hearts constructed was my only hold up in deciding, and today I took a few minutes to put a couple of naked hearts together. My March CQJP block is nearing completion so I’ll have plenty time to embellish these and get them in the mail on time. I might even make a couple more.
A few days ago I made a couple of fabric postcards. This time I used Peltex, an extra stiff interfacing that is fusible on both sides. It worked much better than the Pellon I used to make the first few I made. I found centering and finishing them to be much easier with the Peltex.
Friends really do make life blossom…this one went to a very special friend…she is a bright flower in my friendship garden.
This one was made for a faithful blog visitor who never fails to make me smile when she leaves a comment. I hope it made her smile when she found it in her mailbox.
Thank you for visiting. Your comments are always welcome.
Until next time…

Great looking hearts and your postcards are so cute!
Judy!!! Little did I know when I admired the postcards in this blog post that I would be the lucky girl to receive one!! Thank you so much! The color purple is my one weakness! It arrived today, and came through the mail beautifully. Again, thank you, you are a treasure, and I am honored to call you both friend and sister in the Lord.
Lucky, Lucky ME, I received one of Judy’s terrific postcards today and it was all in green! Perfect for St. Patrick’s Day this weekend. It says: “friends make life blossom.” I LoVe it! Thank you so much Judy.
What did you use to mark the lettering on your cards, it’s very fancy and pretty?
Sorry I never got back with you about the Peltex. Actually I didn’t even know what it was called. I walked into the guilt store, told the lady I wanted the stiffener for PC’s and she just got it and cut a yard. Mine isn’t sticky so I have to sandwich the fusable web.
Now that I’ve found my sewing room again, maybe I can get back into the swing of things.
Hey Pam,
I do enjoy making them! And even more, I enjoy sending them. Maybe I’ll get to make a couple or so more in the coming week. I’d love to get a little stash of them made to send when I want to send someone something “special”. As always, thank you for stopping by.

Yes indeed! You were definitely the recipient of one of my cards, Steph. I appreciate you so much! As you know, the color purple is also my one weakness.
I am also so thankful you are my friend and sister in Christ. God has surely blessed us!

Hey Hollie,
I used stamps for the lettering on my postcards. I held my breath as I stamped them, because I had already completed the cards except for the stamping. One false wiggle and they would have been spoiled. I have acquired a new “addiction” and stop by the stamp section when I visit Hobby Lobby. I treat myself to at least one. I had several before I discovered how much fun making postcards can be, but there is a world of great ones to add to my collection…gradually.
It’s quite alright you didn’t get back to me about the Peltex. You’ve got one of the busiest lives of anyone I know, so I understand. I did the same thing you did when I bought my first postcard “stiff stuff”, but either the lady didn’t know what I needed or they didn’t have it. I was ok with the way the first ones turned out…of which you received one…but I saw so much room for improvement. I wanted something that was fusible on both sides so it was easier to handle the card when I finished the edges. The first I bought was Pellon…if there was any fusible quality it was lost on me. The Peltex works well. It holds fast and well.
I hope you are able to get back to your sewing…I’m still hoping to find my sewing room again. Would you like to visit?
I appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment.
