A short rant…
The Supreme Court will rule on the right to own a hand gun in the District of Columbia soon…maybe today. D. C. is far removed from most of us. Why should we care? The second amendment of the Constitution’s Bill of Rights is in jeopardy. If the Supreme Court rules the citizens of D.C. do not have the right to own a hand gun, they will begin to legislate my right and yours to protect our home and loved ones with a hand gun, too. Whether you like guns or not, the loss of the right to own and bear one should matter to you. In this ever-changing world we live in, a gun is a necessity for any security conscious citizen…and what woman is not security conscious? Outlawing guns will not decrease crime or even decrease crimes committed with the use of a gun…it will only make outlaws of anyone who does not surrender their guns. Criminals will not readily surrender the guns they already own and use against others. The same Supreme Court who recently ruled the rapist of a child does not merit the death penalty is going to make the decision to allow or not to allow citizens to own and keep hand guns! I wonder if the safety of the same child-rapists will be considered in the hand gun ownership ruling! I also wonder who the liberal, so-called “Supreme” judges are trying to protect…no…I don’t wonder. It’s clear as mud!
One more thing…
Who does this guy think he is? May God protect us from ourselves.
It’s time to wake up, America.
end of rant…
Now it’s time for me to vacate this seat and get back to work. I plan on creating something today. It’s been too long.
Until later…
Apathy is the glove into which evil slips its hand.
I knew I liked your blog and this post makes it all the more better! LOL!
Great post…
Well, well, well. I had begun to think this entry was going to get no play. I’m glad someone is awake out there. 🙂 I love my freedom and our guns. I was glad to hear the ruling a conservative one.
Thanks, Suprina.
Glad I read the comments… it’s been a busy week and little time for reading, online or otherwise. If we don’t step up and protect the rights we have now, if we don’t understand how precious they are to us now…. then God will allow them to be stripped away from us one by one. If we ever needed to pray for our country, our leaders, (both secular and religious) it is NOW!
Thanks for your post, Judy.
Molly, it amazes me how few people realize our rights are already being stripped away…how much government has insinuated itself into our homes and daily life…how much government is sucking us dry. So many people seem content with blaming the current administration (which ever it may be) or a particular party. In truth it is the apathy and self-complacency of the masses that has allowed political wolves to take control of a “people’s government”.
I have to wonder if God has not already removed His hand from this country in general…we do seem to be collapsing from the inside. It’s been said by our enemies for many years this is the way America would fall…
As a side note…I’ve said before I’m all for conserving. I believe God expects us to be good stewards of all He has given us. BUT sure as shooting…GREEN is the new color of Communism. This country is willingly “greening” the middle class out of existence. Is it any wonder the nature of a sheep is compared to the nature of man?
I’m glad you commented, Molly…now I know at least three of us are awake. 🙂
Amen, sister! 🙂 My husband and I are both gun owners. He loves hunting and I really enjoy target shooting. We both have our concealed carry permits. I can’t imagine having that right taken away from me. I like knowing that I could defend myself and my precious children if I had to.
I really fear for what is going to happen at this upcoming election. Obama is pulling the wool over so many people’s eyes.
Thanks for your post. I am back online now (the phone guy was down the street all morning, bless his heart) and trying to catch up on what I’ve missed the past couple days. Have a good one!
Good for you and hubby, Angie! Guns do have their place in our country…just as our founding fathers believed. In the hands of decent, responsible people guns are not a danger to anyone. The true danger is being caught without one if you find yourself at the mercy of people who don’t fall into that category.
I’m concerned about this election, too, Angie. Many people seem to be in la la land…but you know the good book tells us there will be many deceived people…
We don’t have a ground phone line anymore…but I remember the days when we did and the “phone guy” worked in our area. (I think you probably use “bless your heart” the way I use “bless your heart”. LOL)
