being green. This was my project of the day. By the time I finished this apron…I was seeing spots, or is that dots?
I also printed out a tutorial by Goosie Girl for making baby shoes. I’m hoping to have the opportunity to stitch a pair tomorrow.
Until next time…
think about this…

this is great! judy, I swear i’d almost consider wearing that out somewhere. i’m typing from out of town on my phone, but I do enjoy keeping tabs on what you’re up to. always a nice moment in my days.
That is a really pretty apron, Judy, but you have to have a waist to make it work!!! LOL!
I love it!!! check for a post next week of a custom wrap skirt I made, They are so similar! I used the green polka dots with a wide waist and an applique that was from anna maria horner’s sketch book fabric…anyway too funny
oh by the way…the dillo closed since the 80’s I hear, my hubby’s parents used to be frequent customers we have a commander cody album that was recorded live there (we are music dorks)
Hi Tammy, I think wearing an apron to town is absolutely appropriate! I hope you are on a pleasure trip getting some good R&R in. I’m still thinking about the Twain quote you shared in your last post. You always make me think, think, think. My aging brain needs that. Thinking is better than ginkgo. 🙂
Hey Nana, I’m glad you like my latest apron…you’d be surprised how well a half-apron will work for anyone and everyone.
Belle, so nice to see you! I will check out your wrap skirt. The similarities between yours and mine makes me smile and I haven’t even seen yours…I admire your unique work. Are you using a pattern for your skirts? I’ve got an Indigo Junction “It’s A Wrap” skirt pattern in my stack of patterns to try. One of these days I’m going to add some appliqué to an apron, too…inspired by you. 🙂 Music dorks, hey? That gave me a chuckle…I bet the closing of the Armadillo caused some shed tears…I wonder if I crossed your parent’s path along the way. I’ve got many good memories of Austin, but they seem to be a lifetime ago.
I could see the “old hippy” influence in your work. 😀
So cute! I love the waist band, and the polka dots are so fun.
Oh how pretty. Finish the back and you could wear this to Church. I love it. So much detail. Be care though… you don’t want any stains on this one.
Christina, thank you. I like the wide waist bands, too…and long ties. The polka dots are fun, but they sure do play tricks on my eyes. Good seeing you.
Hey Goosie Girl,
My new blog friend Belle makes wrap skirts. She said this apron is very similar to a wrap skirt she will post on her blog sometime this week. I look forward to seeing it.
As for the getting stains on it…this apron will hopefully find a new home. Later today it will go to my SIL’s shop. I rarely keep an apron unless it has a flaw large enough to prevent me from feeling good about selling it.
I’m going to get to work on cutting out those adorable baby shoes directly…I’ll post the results when I’m finished and give you a holler if I need help with anything. Your instructions read very clear so I probably won’t have a problem.
Judy, I absolutely LOVE this apron!
My eyes play tricks on me with dots and crazy type patterns. If I am working with the fabric to long….drives me nuts.
Glad you like it, Suprina.
I had the same “problem” with the dots. I was glad to complete the apron, but I just had to turn that piece of fabric into one.
Such a cute apron! I love the polka dots! Now I want one like that–of course, I don’t think it would look quite as nice on me, I don’t have that nice skinny waist!
What a perfect apron. It’s almost as if you made it with me in mind. Green is my favorite color and I love love love polka dots.
momsmess…an apron like that would look just fine on you. My waist is not that skinny either. I just got around to adjusting my mannequin to my size today…I don’t have the apron anymore or I would show you how it looks on a bigger waist. Aprons are for everyone…even polka dot ones. 🙂 O yes…thank you.
I’m glad you like it, Sarah. It was fun to make, and I’m hoping it finds the perfect home. Polka dots are fun!
you could wear it to church. this one is my favorite. i think it’s the sash that does it for me. and the green. and the polka dots. it just grabbed me. green with envy.
in fact, it makes me want to sew something. …so maybe i will.
How nice to see you, Mavis! I’ve been enjoying your blog for so long.
I’m glad you like my green polka dot apron…it got a little hard to look at while I was making it. I thought of Kermit the Frog and had his silly song running around in my head the whole time.
I wish you would sew something….it’s been too long. I’ve always enjoyed seeing all your wonderful creations. Watching your house come together has been good, too, but it makes me feel like such an under-achiever. 😀
