For Today…July 28, 2008
Outside My Window…the temperatures are rising. We are under a heat advisory…
I am thinking…about my DH. He’s physically weak and working in temperatures in excess of 100 degrees. My heart aches…
I am thankful for…my DH. He is so amazing to me. He is doing the impossible during this treatment. I’m also thankful we only have one more month until the end of this trial.
From the kitchen…a meal will be prepared for supper time. We’ll have two grands with us for a couple days. Yippee!
I am wearing…an old faithful, long brown skirt and a turquoise t-top and of course…barefeet.
I am creating…a pair of baby shoes today…of felt…by the tutorial Goosie Girl was kind enough to put together for anyone interested in making a pair. I will likely make either a skirt or finish a bag I started for my granddaughter…
I am going…to spend most of this day with two of our grandchildren. They will arrive soon. I’m putting the last touches on the items I’m sending to my SIL’s shop. I plan on measuring the love seat I’m making a slip cover for…then I’ll begin a muslin cover for practice and fit. (As per usual for Monday…I’m staying home today!!!)
I am reading…”Hagar” by Lois T. Henderson. It’s a novel based on the biblical account of the servant Sarah gave to Abraham to bear a child for her. So far…so good, but I’m not very far into it.
I am hoping…my daughter will agree to take the apron I made for my friend to the post office for me today when she leaves my house. I’d like to get it to her asap, and I’m not leaving the house today…good Lord willing.
I am hearing…Glenn Beck on talk radio. I wish everyone would listen to him. You only hate him for a little while…
Around the house…things are in pretty good shape considering my DH was home four days in a row and most of my time was spent in my sewing room or the kitchen.
One of my favorite things…spending time with my grandchildren.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: I’ll work on my love seat cover. I’d like to get another apron made, and hopefully I’ll finish the final squares I’m making for an afghan.
Here is picture thought I am sharing…
Until next time…
It’s never too late…
To lose weight
Decide right now to act.
Set personal small, medium and large targets.
The key is patience.
Look at the positive results, however gradual.
Praise yourself when you succeed.
Forgive yourself when you slip.
Look at the big picture.
PERSEVERE.
Enjoy those grandbabies!
Blessings!
always the bare(mine are cracked ,ouch!) feet… the mark of a true southern-country gal!

Hey Octamom, I always enjoy my grands. They are one of the wonderful sources of joy in my life…a true God-send and a second chance. 😀 Good to see you!
Hi Belle, (I like that nick for you…my youngest granddaughter is Lilyana Belle…has a sweet ring, Belle does.)
My poor feet are pitiful! I hurt my foot a while back and had to go to the doctor. I was embarrassed to let him touch me they look so well worn…but as much as I love shoes (fetish-type) I equally hate them. They’re just not natural.
I’m glad I found you, too…I think we’ll be famous friends in days to come. I believe in things meant to be.
I’m excited at the prospect of laying eyes on the wonderful apron you made…and plan on sharing it here soon after.
What fun!
Judy, I love the picture of your grands!
Hey Terri, I love the picture, too, but I can only claim one as a grand. The young man on the left is our Alex. The young lady is a church friend’s daughter and the little guy belongs to our pastor.
