The vintage thing I chose to share today is my great-grandmother’s bonnet. The picture does not do it justice. It belonged to my great-grandmother Farmer, my dad’s grandmother.
Until next time…

What an absolute treasure! I think that’s my favorite vintage thingy this week! How wonderful.
I love it!!! I’ve always wanted a bonnet!
That is so darn cool to have that hat from your great grandmother!
Hey ladies, I definitely count this bonnet among my special treasures. I remember sneaking into my mother’s closet when I was a girl and trying it on. I can only imagine the fireworks if I had been caught. 😀 Plundering was one of her pet peeves…and one I couldn’t easily resist. I must not have been as sneaky as I thought though…my dad gave it to me for Christmas three or four years ago. His mom was one of my favorite people of all times…she spoiled me so good.
Jen, bonnets can be had.
Ellen, I’m glad to see you…wish you were linked back. I’d check your vintage thingie out, too.
threeundertwo…I’ll be visiting you.
Wow, what a great treasure. I just love the bonnet. And how special it was your grandmothers.
Thank you, Suzanne, for checking out my vintage thingie and for visiting my blog. I’ll be checking yours out soon.
Was your grandmother Amish?
I use to love going to Lancaster, Pa and looking at all the bonnets the women wore .

Hi Sista,
No my grandmother (and great grandmother…the wearer of the bonnet) were southern farm women…in Mississippi. Bonnets were worn by women all over America back when my great grandmother was alive…that would have been in the mid to late 1800’s.
Thank you for visiting my blog…I’ll be checking yours out soon. 😀
