For Today…Tuesday, August 19, 2008…yesterday was too busy for blogging.
Outside My Window…the sun is trying to break through the clouds, wind is blowing and leaves swaying. “Rumor has it Fay is headed back this way.”
I am thinking…of what memory building things my grandkids and I can do today. Memory building is an opportunity that should never slip past without taking full advantage.
I am thankful for…enough.
From the kitchen…I can see water dripping from the faucet. Ugh!
I am wearing…a comfy dress that should have been tossed into the rag bag years ago. It’s funny how we form “relationships” with certain clothing and have such a difficult time letting it go the way all good clothes eventually go. 😀
I am creating…a skirt for my granddaughter. She is experiencing what life as a mannequin would be. Bless her heart.
I am going…to spend the day relishing the company of my grands and doing chores that must be done around the house.
I am reading…still working on A Pilgrim’s Progress. During the past week I spent most of my reading time watching Olympic swimming and gymnastics. Swimming is over and gymnastics is nearing the end so evening reading time will increase.
I am hoping…and praying my DH is safe at work. He’s feeling pretty rough today.
I am hearing…the Glenn Beck show.
Around the house…activity level will be high today. 😀
One of my favorite things…walnuts.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: I haven’t given the rest of the week much thought. We’re taking life one day at a time. This is the final week of my DH’s grueling treatment, and we’re just trying to get through is. Life will be on the upswing when it’s over. I look forward to that.
Here is picture thought I am sharing…
the freshness of youth…
Until next time…
It’s never too late…
To take a stand…to do what’s right.
Hope the treatment goes by without too much suffering…did you say what it was and what it was for? I cannot remember…and like to pray specifically but know that not everyones husband appreciate us talking about them online!
Keep us informed dear.
My guy is private…well both are actually…They are enjoying the Olympics sports etc but my son was really upset to read about the old ladies who have been detained for re-education purposes by China…so much for the right to protest …
Those girls are gorgeous…thanks for that photo…. do like to see healthy happy children….it makes me feel better! Hope the skirt went well.
Kathleen, my Doh’s treatment is almost over…but this last month has seemed to last extra long. Isn’t it funny how that goes? When we are having fun…time flies…during hardship it seems to stand still.
Even though there is a social stigma attached to the virus the treatment attempts to arrest, we don’t keep it secret. People need to be aware of it, because it runs rampant, and it’s “silent” nature makes it easy to overlook.
He was diagnosed with CV (hepatitis C virus) about a decade ago. This is the second time he has undergone the treatment. Due to its grueling nature he had to be taken off of it the first time around. Prakrit was not used to combat the side effect of severe anemia the first time around. The use of it made it possible for him to complete the treatment this time. In spite of the Prakrit the treatment has been unbelievably hard on him. His determination has amazed me throughout.
I contracted the virus (which generally requires blood exposure and is rarely passed through sexual contact) about 4 years ago and was treated successfully, so my empathy and sympathy have been exactly what they needed to be to support him through this. If I had not been through it, I am not sure we could have successfully finished this round. Isn’t it amazing how God works to prepare us for things to come?
When we are finally through this month it is likely you will be able to hear me doing a hallelujah dance all the way in Australia. 🙂
I am so sorry it has been so hard for him…and how unusual that you had it and were treated successfully…just shows you that it can be done and hopefully give him something to look forward to. Am looking forward to that dance Judy.
It’s not so unusual I was treated successfully even though the success rate is still not overly high…and definitely not unusual that I contracted it from DH, because we didn’t know the precautions to take…and didn’t take any…but it was a blessing to be cleared. I’m hoping and praying my DH gets the same result. I, too, look forward to that dance!
