For Today…Monday…November 10, 2008
Outside My Window…the sun is shining and the rooster is crowing. The air is crisp and cool. It looks like another beautiful day in southeast Mississippi.
I am thinking…of a particular friend who never seems happy, satisfied, thankful or content. How deep misery must run to squash the joy of being alive.
From the learning room…I’m ever learning ways to be more self-sufficient.
I am thankful for…the wood in the fireplace, the coffee in my cup, the warm socks on my feet and the luxury of time to sit quietly at my desk while I type out this week’s daybook entry. I’m thankful for the simple things that combine to make a blessed life.
From the kitchen…there is no activity at the moment. My stomach has begun to growl, so soon the aroma of cinnamon toast made from homemade bread will waft pleasingly through the open area of our house.
I am wearing…It’s pretty chilly in my house this morning. I’ve got a long, camo sweatskirt, a long-sleeved maroon colored teeshirt, socks that almost match the maroon of my shirt, and warm, shearling slippers.
I am creating…I’m in a little bit of a slump, but I’ve started and need to finish a bag for my mom, a baby quilt, burp cloths and multiple other Christmas gifts.
I am going…to walk outside and look at our gardens in just a little while. It is so satisfying to see new growth. Almost everything we have planted has begun to emerge from the soil. We are still waiting for a few onions to peek through the earth.
I am reading…Always By My Side by Jim Nantz. This book is truly a good read. I wish I had a day I could get comfortable and turn pages without demands.
I am hoping…I get out of my creative slump very soon. There is so much to do before Christmas when my DS and DDIL bring their babies for a longish visit. I don’t want to be tied up by “doing” while they are here. I want only to enjoy every moment.
I am hearing…Glenn Beck…fusion of entertainment and enlightenment.
Around the house…it looks like not a lick got hit over the past couple days. My work is cut out for me. 😦 (But I am thankful for our house and enjoy making it an inviting home for my DH.)
One of my favorite things…is a homegrown leaf lettuce salad picked right before eating it.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: I must go to town tomorrow and take care of business. The rest of the week I hope to complete Christmas gifts and prepare food to freeze for later.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing…Over the past six months, I’ve shared several pictures of my DS and the beautiful grandbabies he and his beautiful wife have blessed us with. I’ve never posted a picture of Joshua’s beautiful wife. Meet Brandi (with Micah)…
Until next time…

I enjoy these windows into your world, Judy!! My semester will be over soon and I can rejoin the bloggy world.
Terri, I understand busy…even though I am not in school. I’ve looked in on your blog a few times and found little new. I’ll be glad you are back. Your sweet spirit is always wonderful to experience.

Tammy, the picture was for you. 🙂 From what I understand, Micah is sweet, sweet, sweet and very laid back. His daddy was, too.
Jayedee, Brandi truly is a lovely young woman…beautiful inside and out. Our family loves her dearly…she was/is an answer to a mother’s prayer…that mother is me.
What a gorgeous DIL and sweet young mother! TFS
Thank you, Patty. We are very proud of her on both counts. She’s definitely a “keeper”. 🙂
