For some time now I’ve contemplated my first-ever blog giveaway. One hundred posts came and went without me realizing it. A thousand comments did the same. Still, I’ve felt compelled to give something back to blogland and to at least one of the many lovely people I’ve met through blogging over the past six months. I’ve put much thought into what to give away but have been unable to come to a decision until now. At first I considered making something to humbly present to the random winner. That thought was largely responsible for my indecision. What could I possibly offer as a prize that would appeal to such a talented and diverse group of readers?
Over the past two days I’ve been reading a wonderful book…a Christmas story. Before even completing the book I knew I had found the perfect prize. This book should be read by everyone. I wish I could give away a copy to each person who has commented on my blog, but that’s not possible. I will, however, give a copy to one. I hope the rest of you will buy it for yourself or add it to your Christmas list. I don’t recall the last book I read that I literally couldn’t stand to put down…this is one such book.
As I turned the pages I was reminded of people, events and trials in my own life…I laughed and cried. My heart went out to Eddie. My heart went out to the author, because a story like this must spring forth from the heart and soul. The Christmas Sweater is written by Glenn Beck. If you know him, you either love him or hate him. This story is a glimpse deep into the grain of what makes him who he is, and you’ll surely see him differently after sharing in this story. It’s a story of love and hope and promise. It’s a story you should not miss the opportunity to read.
My sweet, sweet DH surprised me with a copy, and I’m so glad he did. Now I’d love to share a copy with one of you.
For your chance to win this wonderful book leave a comment on this giveaway post telling about your most precious Christmas gift and why it meant so much to you. To double your chance, share this giveaway on your blog, linking back to this post.
You have until December 14th to leave a comment…The winner will be announced on the 15th. That should leave plenty of time for the winner to receive it before Christmas. I hope you win.
Until next time…
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is what you really are while your reputation is merely what others think you are.
Without a doubt, my most precious Christmas present was, is, and will always be, my son. Of course, I have 2 precious children, now adults, but the son was born on Christmas morning, 25 years ago this Christmas.
I will definitely mention your holiday giveaway – but for some reason can’t get the linking thing to work -I hate when computers develop a mind of their own, which is generally always beyond my comprehension!!!
You are one of 6 who got the Tree of Happiness Award from me yesterday – but probably don’t know it, because the computer has outfoxed me again!! LOL
our Savior, Jesus Christ. a precious gift, indeed.
i just tweeted about your giveaway on twitter….and will be blogging about it too!
It’s hard to choose. So many. I am blessed. A couple years ago I had all 5 children home. Considering that one was a Marine as was between tours, this was truely a blessing.
The book sounds wonderful. I would love to win because I think my whole family would enjoy reading it, especially my mother.
Other than my Lord and Savior, my mos precious Christmas gift would have to be my daughter, even though she was born the day after Christmas.
what a lovely giveaway.
I am catching up on blog reading while my computer cooperates, so I am going to comment on all your stuff right here 🙂
That optical illusion is Crazy!
I have been following The domestic Divas posts about her daughter also. How tragic. They will all be in my prayers.
sour cream biscuits sound so yummy. I have to have either bread or biscuits with every meal. I LOVE carbs.
Judy, Have a very wonderful Thanksgiving. I am thankful for you!
I agree, Our Lord and Savior is the best gift. A loving family is second. The third is my health. We are so blest in this country. So many things to be thankful for. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!
The most precious gift I ever received was my mother-in-laws wedding band. She died a few months before Christmas and my husband went to the funeral as we were living overseas at the time. I had no idea that he had brought the ring back with him and didn’t find out till christmas morning when I was presented with it along with a note from his mom. I wear the ring every day and have kept the note and can’t wait to pass them on to my own daughter.
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have so many things to be thankful for.
I don’t know who glenn beck is, except that I think he has a radio show that you listen to in the mornings? anyhow, count me in! – I may once again learn something new.
I’m glad y’all have thrown your name into the hat. This book is a sweet read…
Yes, Tammy, Glenn Beck does have a radio show I listen to in the morning. On January 17 (I think that is the date…it begins on the day before the Presidential inauguration) he will join Fox News with a show of his own. He’s somewhat of a wild man…but you’d never know it from this book.
