For Today…Monday, December 01, 2008
Outside My Window…The sun has risen revealing a cold, damp morning. The remnants of fog still looms over low lying ground. Our chickens are scratching around in their yard in search of an unsuspecting, juicy morsel. All is right on little corner of the world.
I am thinking…of how quickly December arrived and all that remains to be done before Christmas.
From the learning room…A new sewing project has begun…a Martha Pullen pattern. I’ve never used one of her patterns before, and I look forward to gleaning any new technique she may use.
I am thankful for…so much. From time to time I reflect over the past. Doing so magnifies the blessings in my life. God has been good to me and mine.
From the kitchen…the coffee pot holds hot, strong, eye-opening liquid. The dishwasher is full of clean dishes and those that did not fit inside await me this morning. I feel like such a slug when I leave dirty dishes over night. ~ sigh ~
I am wearing…my pajamas and a plush terrycloth robe. I’ve even got slippers on my usually bare feet. The bathroom floor was uncomfortably cold when my feet touched it.
I am creating…a reversible jumper for our youngest granddaughter and strings of popcorn and cranberries for our Christmas tree.
I am going…to accompany my DH to the doctor for a follow-up appointment for his injured shoulder. We’ll stop by our insurance man’s office after we leave the doctor’s office. During the heavy rain storms over the weekend a large limb landed on and tore through the roof of our travel trailer. We may stop by the Salvation Army thrift store on our way home if time allows.
I am reading…Always By My Side by Jim Nantz. Don’t let the length of time it is taking me to complete this wonderful book be a sign of its readability. Most nights I’m too tired to read by the time I climb into bed. On Thanksgiving day my sister gave me several wonderful vintage quilting books. I’ve been reading select sections of those this week. And last but not least, my Bible…daily.
I am hoping…I get all the gifts I plan to make completed in time for Christmas.
I am hearing…silence. A few moments ago my DH brought me a fresh cup of coffee and told said, “I love you.” Such sweet words to my ears.
Around the house…Except for the kitchen things are in pretty good order. I do have a couple loads of laundry awaiting me. For a Monday, we’re in good shape.
One of my favorite things…hearing my granddaughter play the piano.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: sew, sew, sew…and more sewing.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing…
Until next time…

What a delightful smile! Must be a grandson??
Yes, Molly. That’s Alex our first born grandson. He was blushing…which is such a sweet thing to see a young man doing in this age of shamelessness we live in. I can’t remember what we were talking about, but he turned the most adorable shade of red and stayed that way for several minutes.
Awww… how sweet!
