I am thankful for my washer and dryer…those two machines make life so much simpler than it would be without them. Now it’s time for me to move on to another machine…I’ve got Christmas gifts to stitch, and the clock is ticking.
Until next time…
True gratitude, like true love, must find expression in acts, not words. ~ R. Mildred Barker ~
i know what i’d do without a washer and dryer! and it ain’t purty!
i participated in a challenge years ago where i actually went without “modern conveniences” for two weeks. a plunger in a 5 gallon bucket is NOT a fun way to do laundry!
i am so grateful for all the little things that make our lives easier. how about your hot water heater? you don’t know how much you rely on something till it’s gone!
How well I know.
We lost our house and all the trimmings during Katrina. We lived in tents for several days…and without electricity for 21 days. We did laundry in washtubs, with a scrub board and a garden hose for over a month. Hot water was heated on a bbq grill…thank goodness we were able to go to the plant where my DH works and shower. The creek near us was way to cold for my comfort!
We are spoiled…but I enjoy the benefits of modern convenience. I hope and pray we don’t lose them…but it looks like that is very likely. I’m thankful we know how to rough it…just in the event that lifestyle becomes a reality.
Thanks for visiting and yes those are mighty yummy. I am grateful that I wasn’t born in the earlier days of hand washing…..I’m way to spoiled. We remodeled the kitchen a few years back(during Thanksgiving)….I washed dishes in a tub in the bathroom….not a fun way to go! I can’t even imagine handwashing clothes, especially with a dd that has 5, 6, maybe 7 batches a week~!
