I’ve been blogging less than a year. Before I took the plunge into Blogland I couldn’t imagine needing a blog and had no idea how much of a blessing being a part of Blogland could be. The purpose of this post is to share some of my recent blessings and re-introduce you to those who have been a blessing.
Giveaways are always fun to enter. There is an amazing quanty of things given away by generous bloggers. Each time I enter a giveaway I hope to win, but I don’t expect to win. Lately I’ve been especially blessed by winning…hence the bliss.
Last month I entered a giveaway on a blog I visit frequently. Patty, the blogger, is so creative and expresses some of that creativity through altered art pieces. I’m amazed by the way she turns “trash” and little pieces-parts into things of beauty. Seeing Patty’s work has been responsible for me looking at things that would otherwise be cast away in a new light. I won one of the two pieces Patty gave away during her last giveaway, and I am truly glad I did. This lovely chunky wood ATC now sits on our mantel next to an antique clock. The little lady looks at home. Visit Patty at Magpie’s Nest to see some more remarkable creations.
Back in December I commented on a Pay It Forward giveaway at Mama Sings The Blues. Jen is creative crafting blogger. She makes cool stuff from unlikely pieces parts like turning milk jug lids into earrings and necklaces…and wonderful cosmetics. Last week I recieved homemade crafter’s hand cream for taking part in her Pay It Forward giveaway. It smells heavenly and feels like luxury on my poor weathered hands. I love my hand cream and the emerald green jar it came in. (I’d love to have several yards of the fabric she chose to use on the lid…it’s beautiful.)
Jen has an Etsy shop with a new shop to sell her unique creations coming soon. All proceeds from Jen’s Etsy shop go to a Baby Ike. Check it out.
Are you beginning to see why I’m feeling bloggy blessed and blissful? I’m not done yet…
Also in February I entered a giveaway over on Nana Days (another blog I visit often) for a copy of Fireproof. I told Angie when I commented this movie was in my Netflix queue with a “very long wait”. I won! My DH has the weekend off…we’ll surely enjoy this movie. Visit Nana Days for a glimpse into an all-American family’s life. Angie is a creative sewer and makes great hair barrettes.
For a long time I’ve wanted pie birds. These neat little ceramic treasures prevent homemade fruit pie filling from spilling over into your oven. Never have I seen them locally, but during my blog browsing I found the opportunity to buy a couple. While looking in on Not Quite June Cleaver I discovered this blogger had a pair for sell in her Etsy shop…and a darling pair they are. Finding these tweet little cuties was a blessing. The transaction went smoothly so I hope this blogger has something else I’ve always wanted again. 🙂 There’s always something interesting going on at Not Quite June Cleaver. Check it out.
Last but not least…just the latest…is the great bag I received in the mail today. I am so pleased. The picture online did not do it justice…and the one I took might not either, but I love it! Late in February I entered a giveaway over on Bags n Rags. A good many people entered by commenting so I never dreamed I would win. The numbers simply weren’t on my side, but to my delight, I received an email announcing me as the winner! My new bag testifies to Ginny’s excellent craftsmanship. She has an etsy shop where her beautiful bags are for sale. If you need a sassy bag you can’t go wrong with a bag from Bags n Rags. Ginny also makes custom rag quilts. Check out her blog and shop and see her crafty work for yourself. Here’s my lovely new bag…The Retro.
These are just a few reasons I am feeling bloggy blessed and blissful lately. There are so many more reasons I could share, but I wanted to highlight these blogs and bloggers who have been a blessing to me lately. Each of them have much to offer and deserve a pat on the back for making Blogland a nicer place to visit. Since it’s hard to deliver a cyber-pat why not visit each of these bloggers, and let them know you stopped by.
Until next time…
