For Today…April 6, 2009
Outside My Window…the sun is shining and a cold north wind is chilling the air. We are in danger of a hard frost tonight and tomorrow night.
I am thinking…There is much preparation outside before the frost comes. Early growing seasons do have their drawbacks. The old-times in these parts always said “if it thunders in February, it will frost in April”. It appears they are right.
From the learning room…I am learning patience and what “for better or worse, in sickness in health” really means. My DH is relying on me for almost everything in these early days after surgery.
I am thankful for…my DH was able to get his shoulder repaired. He suffered much with it over the past few months.
From the kitchen…I’m down-sizing stuff. This morning I’ve filled one box and plan to go through all the cabinets and remove the things I don’t use or have too many of. Our church teenagers are having a yard sale soon to raise money for a trip later in the year. Hopefully my efforts will benefit them.
I am wearing…an old black T-top with 3/4 length sleeves and a tier skirt I bought at a yard sale for $1.00. It was a strapless dress…I transformed it.
I am creating…embroidery pieces that will be used for various projects at a later date. I’ve had little time for actual sewing over the past couple weeks, but in the evening I am able to sit and stitch while I relax. I’m also creating a less cluttered environment…yea!!!
I am going…to stay home today and try to keep a steady pace around here so I can get some much needed things done.
I am reading…Christy (still). In spite of the length of time it is taking me to get through it, I’m enjoying it greatly. I’m also readying my Bible…daily.
I am hoping…my DH heals as quickly as possible and that we are both able to keep a positive outlook while we go through this time together.
I am hearing…talk radio…Glenn Beck. It is astounding and reassuring how many Americans are feeling our precious freedom in jeopardy…slipping away.
Around the house…much needs to be done. Baby steps…baby steps…baby steps. I’ll get there eventually.
One of my favorite things…springtime.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Tomorrow I’m going to the doctor for a “routine” check-up, later in the week my DH returns for his first post-op visit. I’ll continue to work around the house, inside and out.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing…
Until next time…
