For days and weeks that turned into months I’ve tried to take time to sew…finally today I let everything else wait, and I made a small project from start to finish. My mom had a ragged dog bone neck pillow on her couch the last time I went to visit, and I said it was in rough shape. She told me she planned on taking it apart to use as a pattern, because my sister liked the way it felt behind her neck when she was relaxing and would like to make one for herself. I offered to take it home and make the pattern and send it to my sister. Mom asked me to make a copy for her. I told her I’d make her a pillow if she wanted me to. She said that would be nice. Mom’s been so snowed under caring for my dad, time for ripping the old pillow apart would likely be hard to find much less taking the time to make one for herself. This afternoon I cut the old one apart, drew a pattern and made a new one. They are simple and quick to make. It felt great to sit at my long neglected machine and actually make something. I feel like my long creative dry spell has come to an end. Hallelujah!
The pillow I made today…with the remnants of the worn out, well-loved one.
There is still time to get in on my “Because I have two” giveaway….
Until next time…
