My son and his beautiful family are with us during this Christmas and New Year season. My cup overflows with goodness and blessings. I can already feel the sadness of their departure for home trying to sneak into my emotions, but each time sadness tries to invade I shove it aside so not to dampen the time we have together. It’s been a wonderful time of watching Josh and Brandi parenting and loving each other…a blessed time of getting to know our beautiful DIL better. Geographic distance presents such a limitation on familiarity.
With all that being said, there is no further need for explaining my sparse blogging posts and visits to the blogs and blogging friends I’ve grown to love over the past several months. My computer chair is mostly vacant and will remain so while the “kids” are here.
Yesterday they went to my mom and dad’s house to hang out and spend some time with them. Mom made chicken and dumplings and dressing for supper…I begged for leftovers if there were any, and she sent me some. Wordless Wednesday is supposed to be wordless…but these are too good not to prelude. They are every bit as wonderful as they look.

Our chickens have become egg laying machines. 🙂 Our egg count is up to 42. 🙂 I plan on keeping a record of how many eggs our sweet little flock gives us for the duration…we’ll see.
Until next time…
